CONVENTION
DATES & LOCATION
This year’s convention will be held August 14-16, 2008,
at the The Tremont House at 2300 Ship's Mechanic Row, Galveston,
Texas 77550. Other exciting venues include:
Galveston Island Convention Center
The Davidson Building
The Strand Theatre
The Texas Seaport Museum
The Fisherman's Wharf Restaurant.

LOST AND FOUND
For your convenience, a lost and found box will be kept at
the TMC Registration Desk. Bring found items or report lost
items to the Registration Desk and we will try to assist you.
TMC convention staff will not be responsible for lost personal
property.
CONVENTION ATTIRE
Casual business attire is appropriate for day events and meetings.
Be sure to pack a light jacket since meeting rooms in the
hotel are frequently cool. If you are attending Saturday night's
Golden Trowel Reception, Dinner and Awards Banquet, dress
is Semi-Formal.
SPECIAL ASSISTANCE
We make sure our facility has total accessibility, and we
do whatever is needed to make attending the Convention as
convenient as possible for all attendees. If you have a special
need, please let us know. We will contact you before the Convention
to make arrangements, if necessary.
NAME BADGE POLICY
Please wear your name badge at all times. Name badges are
required for entrance to all convention events. Due to heightened
security, only registered attendees with a name badge will
be allowed entrance to events. A registered convention attendee
must accompany guests/Spouse registrants.

ASKED QUESTIONS
WHEN AND WHERE WILL THE CONFERENCE BE HELD?
This year’s convention will be held August 14-16, 2008,
at the The Tremont House at 2300 Ship's Mechanic Row, Galveston,
Texas 77550. Some events will take place at locations other
than the hotel. For a complete list, please view the convention
schedule.
HOW DO I GET A HOTEL ROOM FOR THE CONFERENCE?
TMC has reserved a block of rooms at the Hotel. The hotel
will hold these rooms until August 3, 2008; you MUST make
your hotel reservations by this date. Visit the Hotel &
Travel section on this web site for more information.
The room rate is $125 (plus tax) per night for single or double
occupancy. The rate of $125 is only guaranteed through Sunday,
August 3, 2008, or until the room block sells out. Reservations
received after August 3, or after the room block has been
filled, will be made on a space-available basis, and may be
subject to higher rates. Be sure to mention that you are attending
the "Texas Masonry Council Convention." Hotel rooms
are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis until the
hotel is sold out. Make your reservations early!
HOW CAN I REGISTER FOR THE TMC CONVENTION?
There are three ways to register for the convention. Register
securely on-line with a credit card! You may also register
by fax or mail. See the registration information page for
instructions.
HOW WILL I KNOW TMC HAS RECEIVED MY REGISTRATION FORM?
All paid registrations will be confirmed via e-mail within
five working days after the payment is processed. If you do
not provide an e-mail address, your confirmation will be mailed
to you. Please note that it will take longer to receive your
confirmation. Changes to original registration information
(e.g., job title) must be submitted in writing by fax or mail
and are best accomplished prior to your arrival. If you do
not provide credit card or check for payment with your registration,
a confirmation will NOT be sent until full payment is received.
If you do not receive confirmation within 10-15 days of submitting
the registration form with payment, please check with your
accounting office to confirm the form was actually sent and
then contact Valerie Burkhart at vburkhart@rector-duncan.com.
CAN I ATTEND JUST THE EXHIBIT HALL ONLY?
Sorry, TMC does not offer “Exhibit Hall Only" registration.

HOW CAN I GET A RECEIPT FOR MY REGISTRATION?
Your confirmation letter serves as your official receipt.

WHERE DO I PICK UP MY NAME BADGE AND OTHER CONFERENCE
MATERIALS?
Conference attendees, exhibitors, and speakers may pick up
their badges at the Registration Desk. Upon arrival, please
stop by the Registration Desk to check in and receive your
name badge and other convention materials. Registration will
be open during the following hours:

IF I CANCEL MY REGISTRATION, IS MY HOTEL ROOM AUTOMATICALLY
CANCELED AND VICE VERSA?
No. These are independent of each other, and you need to cancel
each separately.
TMC Policy: If you must cancel for any reason, please notify
us in writing by July 14, 2008. Your registration fee will
be refunded, less a $100 processing fee. No refunds will be
made after this date. Substitutions are allowed at the appropriate
rates and may be made by phone, fax or e-mail until July 31,
2008.
HOTEL Policy: Please check with The Tremont House for their
cancellation policy.
CAN I GET A REFUND IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY REGISTRATION?
Refunds, less a $100 processing fee per registrant, will be
granted for cancellations received in writing at the TMC office
by July 10, 2007. Refunds will not be granted for cancellation
after this date. “No-shows” are responsible for
full conference payment. You can e-mail your cancellation
request to Valerie Burkhart at vburkhart@rector-duncan.com,
or fax to (512) 451-9599.
IF I AM UNABLE TO ATTEND THE CONFERENCE, CAN I SEND
SOMEONE IN MY PLACE?
Yes, if you are unable to attend the conference and have already
registered, you may designate another person to take your
place. Substitutions are allowed at the appropriate rates
and may be made by phone, fax or e-mail until July 31, 2008.
